Junior Capstone Unit 1
Junior Unit 1 introduces scholars to the importance of protecting creativity and choreography. Scholars will learn how artists keep their ideas safe and explore basic laws that help protect work in the entertainment world. They will also build financial literacy by learning how creators earn money from their work and develop an early understanding of the economics behind performances, music, and creative products.
Junior Capstone Unit 2
In this junior unit, scholars will learn about the resilience it takes to be a dancer and how consistent practice leads to creativity and innovation in the dance industry. They will also explore the financial side of being a performer, including how dancers earn money, budget for training, and make smart financial choices to support their career dreams.
Advance Capstone Unit 1
In this advanced unit, scholars will explore artist entrepreneurship and the opportunities that come with being a creative independent. They will learn how artists build their own brands, manage their work, and turn creative ideas into real projects. Scholars will also deepen their financial literacy by examining how independent artists earn income, budget for their craft, and make strategic financial decisions that support long‑term success.
In this advanced unit, scholars will evaluate the concept of intellectual property and understand why creative ownership is essential for dancers. They will explore how protecting their ideas, choreography, and artistic work helps them maintain control over their creations. Scholars will also examine the financial side of creative ownership—learning how dancers earn income from their work, why copyright and licensing matter, and how protecting their creativity supports long‑term economic stability in the arts.
